AN UPDATE ON OUR NEPAL FLOOD RELIEF FUND
When devastating flooding struck Nepal last month, our HYF community responded with extraordinary compassion. Because of that response, the immediate needs of some of the more than 17,000 children and young people affected by this disaster could be met right away.
Now, as we move beyond the immediate response and assess the long term picture, we can now see with even more clarity that emergency assistance is only the beginning of our commitment. HYF will continue to support three of our university students, who have lost their homes and family members, with tailored assistancebased on their individual circumstances, including for urgent necessities such as safe housing, food, clothing, educational supplies, emotional support, and assistance with the traditional funeral rites and rituals for the loved ones they have lost.
Your generosity will also allow six children directly impacted by the flooding — children like Norzin (pictured below), who have lost homes and loved ones — to find a new beginning at Kailash Home. These six children will join four others who were already scheduled to arrive soon, more than doubling the total number of new Kailash Kids in 2026.

At Kailash, these children will receive far more than food, shelter, and an education. They will be surrounded by love and given the emotional support they need after all they have endured. Our team will help them adjust to their new home, and assess their individual educational needs to prepare them to enter the appropriate classroom.
Our commitment to these children is not short term. Once a child arrives at Kailash Home, we commit to walking alongside them for the remainder of their educational journey. Emergency gifts made it possible for HYF to say yes to these children in a moment of dire need. Sponsorship will help us keep that promise for the years ahead. We are now seeking Sponsors for our incoming class of Kailash Kids. For less than $7/day over a commitment of six years, Sponsorship will give one of these precious children an education, proper nutrition, healthcare, emotional well-being, compassionate guidance, the security of knowing they have a place where they belong, and hope for brighter days in the future.
