Stand with the Children of Nepal

In the wake of the devastating flooding in Nepal, thousands of families have been displaced, and more than 17,000 children are in immediate need of safety, care, and support. In response to this tragedy and your outpouring of concern, the Himalayan Youth Foundation has mobilized to establish the Children in Need: Nepal Flood Relief Fund.

The need in this moment is urgent, and HYF and Kailash Home are preparing to take in children affected by this disaster. These children will receive far more than temporary shelter though. We will make the same long-term commitment to them that we make to every child at Kailash — a safe and loving home, quality education, proper nutrition, physical and mental health support, and the security of knowing they belong. Whenever possible, we will also strive to keep siblings together.

We are absolutely heartbroken by the tremendous amount of devastation and loss, and also deeply grateful that HYF is in a position to help. As we were there for Nepal’s displaced children following the tragic 2015 earthquake through our long-established nonprofit presence and trusted partners in Nepal, we are already on the ground and ready to respond in this moment as well.

The scale of this tragedy is still unfolding, and the impacts have been felt across Nepal and throughout the world. Your gift today will help us prepare to welcome and care for children who need a safe place to call home not only now, but for the years ahead.

Your gift today will bring immediate relief to a child in need! You can contribute to the Children in Need: Nepal Relief Fund online, via text, or by sending your check in the mail.
